Rewiring Renewal
Making each moment your January 1st
As another year in our modernized understanding of time comes with brisk finality you may be considering what old energies you wish to release before entering a new year. Perhaps your focus is paralyzed upon new energies you wish to call into your existence harking changes and transformations in your day to day. Although probably, you refer to it as your new years resolutions. We see January 1st as a new start, a fresh canvas of renewal to restart, as if this day offers us a chance to flush old habits and patterns unserving or uncomfortable to past or present selves.
From here I could branch into a long rant about time and its creation and evolution in human history, ending with a statement reflecting its illusory qualities rooted in systems negligent of our true nature and harmonious state of being. Beyond shedding this pathological framework that has embedded itself within the fabric of our being, I think we have to find different ways to interact within these structures on a micro level in order for personal shifts to become dominoes of deviation to complete macro changes that remain in spaces and places. This interaction I speak of is our attitude towards time, because regardless of how you interpret, understand, or believe time-it is your outlook upon it that allows you harness its true timeless nature.
Landing here, I may tell you the past, present, and future are all existing right now, and that infinite versions of you exist right here right now. Although, here I am returning to the precipice of a rant on time I believe I just promised you I would avoid. So, I may suggest my point returning to the discussion of a new year, and offer you a new perspective, a renewal rewired. Before you continue I remind you of the phenomenological concept epoché which offers a suspension of judgement. Meaning in this context, forget everything you know or believe about time, the new year, how you are to act, behave, or feel during this time- and allow yourself a fresh lens, a rebirth of experience and an opportunity for a catalyst reshaping how you view yourself, others, life, etc.
January 1st, the new year, is happening at each and every moment. It is an energetic choice each vibratory response evoked from your body may offer calibrations of, echoing the person you decide you wish to be or become. I have always found these resolutions somewhat silly, perhaps slightly performative, and often further segregating people from goals they wish to achieve in the coming months. Take for example the resolution of starting at the gym, okay well why haven’t you started working out sooner if it is something you wish to integrate into your experience? What is the shift that takes place January 1st that conforms you to this upgraded sense of being? Placing new energies on a start date that remains in this epoché already exists right now, you place your being further from truly satiating this version of the self. If you wish to start going to the gym, refining your workout practice, whatever it may be on January 1st-I challenge you to start it right now. And I challenge you to perceive each moment as the modernized January 1st has constructed itself to be in each and every moment for the rest of your year, for that is where we start to rewire this sense of renewal into an everyday opportunity for creating a life of alignment and transformation on constant shifts to a better self. The impetus of creating a new or better version of yourself, perhaps one more cohesive with a true expression of the soul, is everlastingly present in a persistent manner.
There are limitless versions of you that exist, you are a deciding factor in every moment of who you would like to be. Under this epoché of time as illusory I challenge you to imagine the infinite timelines that exist, of slightly different or perhaps completely different versions of yourself shaped by different choices, actions, beliefs, influences, etc-that have landed you where you are right now. If you were to close your eyes right now and imagine what, who, where, you would be right now in contrast to your present perception if you had decided to not take that job five years ago, sit beside a different person on your last train ride, or missed your last flight-what do you see? You still can sense this person, this experience as yourself I imagine-but this self is not wholly the same as you yourself anymore, are they? Perhaps the differences are wide or narrow. This is a different version of you, a different timeline, that as you close your eyes and connect with, you can feel its presence, its existence humming from within. It is almost as if you can feel what this life is like, would be like, was like-just by thinking about it, because it still is a part of you.
Rewiring this belief of creating a new resolution because the calendar of perceived time has instructed you in such a way is only limiting you from your true self, a better version, a more engaging experience of existence offered. Perhaps I should be posting this at a different time of year, for now I sound somewhat contradictory telling you to shed your practice of new years resolutions with a resolution in its place. Although, perhaps this is one of the most important times for you to be reading this as I said near the beginning that these interactions start on a micro level. Take into your new year a remembrance that regardless of the governing structures around you, confining, conforming, forcing you into a little square on a paper calendar marked with dates of completion-that you are the one who is in control. May you take the energy engrained upon you evoked through January 1st into a fresh perspective that allows you a deeper awareness in every moment of presence. Don’t wait to make changes in your life, the time you are waiting for, the future self you are waiting for, the right moment you are waiting for-is all right now.
Rewiring renewal is asking yourself what the best version of yourself would be doing right now, and what steps you are taking to embody that self? You already exist infinitely, trapped inside this calendrical box that shields you from your timelessness. May every moment become your January 1st, and may this moment bring forth a new perception that brings you closer to a state of contentment. I will not end this by wishing you a happy new year, I will instead wish you a happy life, and a fulfilling existence.

Inspiring, Sophie! Thank you for this precious reminder 💗
